The Brief. Create a piece of furniture to house the client's DVD collection and showcase the artwork featured on the spines of his hardback comic-books.
Nothing wall-mounted or a standard looking bookcase. It needed to be freestanding, purpose-designed for a specific space and tailored around his collection, while complementing the existing styling of the room.

Plywood used for strength and is light weight could also be painted and finished. A wood finish and grain wasn't needed.
The piece needed to feel like it belonged in his man cave, rather than looking like a conventional bookcase. Huge DC and Marvel fan.
Product had to fit a specific space and set of dimensions whilst still housing his comics and DVD's.
Polished steel bars finished the look.
